What is pay per click marketing

People that have websites needing traffic normally find that pay per click can be the most cost effective technique they employ to get that extra traffic. Advertising on the Internet is still a developing art but so far this method has come out on top of the others that are used. If you haven’t tried this before but have considered using pay per click then you may have some questions which will need to be addressed.
All that happens here is an advert (some text with a URL link), often in blocks of two or more, is placed on various other websites that are popular and receive large numbers of visitors. If someone likes your ad text they will click on your link and be redirected to your site and provide they stay for more than ten seconds, you will pay the hosting site some money as thanks. There are a couple of pints to remember about this: your advert will be related to the subject of the site it is being used on and these sites are generating huge amounts of traffic. One of the most obvious advantages to pay per click is that you will only pay when people come to your site, that is, when the ad is used.
Of course with traditional advertising which is very costly, there is no guarantee any visitor will even bother looking at your ad, let alone give you any business. In the early days it was often said that a competitor would try to deplete their competitors advertising budget by clicking on their link until they used it up but this rarely happens these days. Because the marketing with pay per click is targeted there is less money lost on advertising in the wrong areas. The people visiting the hosting site are already looking for related products or services to those you are offering.
There are a number of these pay per click programs available but it is Google who have captured the market with their Adwords system. Your small ad will show up when people search on Google for a phrase or term that you designate. Depending on how much you have paid your advert will either be at the top of the search result page or in the right hand column.
For many people, part of the appeal about pay per click marketing is the immediacy. It doesn’t take very long for you to discover whether you will need to adjust the advert. Pay per click search marketing is something that is very simple to use, but at the same time is nearly essential to making online in business today.
